Australian jade refers to a kind of green chalcedony produced in Australia. It is cryptocrystalline quartz and translucent. Australian jade is apple green or pinkish green due to nickel oxide, with fine and uniform texture and uniform color. 


The English word chrysoprase comes from the Greek words "chrysos" and "prason".
