Kunzite

Kunzite is a kind of pyroxene, which is mostly produced in granite pegmatite and sometimes can form coarse crystals. It is a high-quality mineral source for extracting lithium in the industry, but spodumene (emerald spodumene hiddénite and Kunzite) with beautiful colors and transparent crystals is used as a gem material. 

Origin of the name:

The lavender-pink Kunzite was discovered in California in 1902. It was first identified by the American gemologist and geologist George Frederick Kunz, so his surname Kunz was used as the stone’s name Kunzite. 

Colour: 

The color of Kunzite is usually light and elegant, with green, purple, yellow, red and other colors. In many cases, the color of gem-grade Kunzite is close to colorless, so brightly colored Kunzite is rare. 

Origin: 

Kunzite is found in Brazil, Madagascar, the United States, Canada, Mexico, Sweden and Xinjiang.
