The legend of St Christopher
According to legend, his real name was Offerus, and he swore to serve the most powerful king in the world. He went to the King of Canaan, and then to the devil. When he found out that the devil was afraid of the cross, he decided that Jesus was the most powerful king.
According to Roman Catholic and Eastern Orthodox records, Christopher was a Canaanite with a height of 2.3 meters and a very strong body. Later, a hermit told him that as long as he carried the people beside a very wide and turbulent river and crossed the river for some time, he would be able to see Jesus. Christopher did just that for a while, using his strong and tall body to carry people across the river on his shoulders every day. One day when carrying a child across the river, Christopher found the child was surprisingly heavy. After crossing the river with great effort, the child told him that he was Jesus, and then soon disappeared.
Christopher, the Greek root pher, phor is homologous with the Latin root fer, meaning to carry, to bear, to bring, so the literal meaning of this person's name is "Christ-bearing", that is, "carrying Christ"

St Christopher is usually depicted as a tall man with a child sitting on his shoulders and holding a staff.
Use of St Christopher's Amulet
As the patron saint of travelers, St Christopher's sanctuary is extensive. From explorer to sailor, driver to surfer, St Christopher is one of the most popular heroes of the faith.
Because St. Christopher symbolizes safe travel, the saint remains popular in modern times in the form of a St. Christopher pendant. The St Christopher Medal can be in the form of a key chain or a simple charm, but the most popular way to display it is to wear it on a necklace.
The Obsidian round Medal depicts a bearded man, usually holding a staff, crossing a river with a young child. The outer edge around the scene reads "St. Christopher protect us" or "St. Christopher be my guide."
Surfers wear St Christopher's pendants in the ocean for protection and give them to their boyfriends and girlfriends as a sign of a stable relationship.
